How to Build DIY Accent Wall for $100

How to Build DIY Accent Wall for $100

[, Music, ], [, Music, ] measurements, design check now it's time for Home Depot, [ Music, ], [, Music, ], [ Applause, ], gee, pull of one by to use to buy ones. Welcome to my Jeep full of wood. I think I might do this project for only $ 100. Oh, I definitely did like the bargain wood, but if you want to put a little more work, you could do this in under $ 100 paint stained boards. I just hand-picked 65 of these boards, [ Music ] like it. I just think you kind of like I'm a little splash. I think it's good like this. Okay, how this is so white-walled everywhere. So this feels like a lot: [ Applause, ], [, Music, ], [, Music ]. I met mid-project slump. I think I've been going for like five or six hours, but I really just want to push through. So that's what I'm trying to do. It'S basically right now. So paint is done now it's cut sand stain attached to the wall.  felix furniture  haven't decided yet if I'm gon na do just like vertical boards, the width of our bed or vertical boards, the whole wall, yet so remember how I hand-picked 65 boards, like two bad ones on my twos. That means I have to cut 65 [ Music ] [, Music ] good morning, okay, so I thought I do this all in one day. I can't that's fine too. Now today I mean payments really quick, but now it's just like sandy and cutting staining. Now I'm just measuring and applying, and so it's actually kind of happening, but I slipped a cut and trim in this room cut and stained and sand like 13 ish more boards, I decided not to go the whole wall, I'm just gon na. Do it essentially like a extended headboard, black matte, black sconces and then like floating black metal shelves for like our end tables? So so today is just really like finishing up those cuts. It'S also the first football Sunday. All day long starts in about a half hour, we'll be good to go. So, let's just get back to work for now got my coffee got my football. I have my projects, okay, so I realize I was talking about applying boards and then I didn't show you so I see. Okay, let's go this one I already know is too long. So this is what we got people so far, I'm just applying by this one nail. Just because I want to make sure I can still like arrange them or, like you know, tilt them a little bit. If the spacing isn't perfect - and I know the spacing - won't be perfect, because these are 98 and haywood boards, but like towards the bottom, see how I like this one kind of like bends, but I don't really care cuz, my butt's gon na be right here. That'S blue. These blue marks. If you can find her bed, I need a king bed that we don't know. I mean I just took the measurements offline, so go there and then we'll do like black sconce floating middle shelf. I have to go back over with like black, because you can see flat paint is not very durable and it picks up dust pretty well or like skidmark or like any kind of like scuff mark. So I'm gon na do another, but cuz we're at so. We have, I did a rough estimate that I have like 20 more to go another part of this project. I was basically I was trying to decide if I wanted to apply it like this way. It'S like pretty perpendicular with the wall or flat parallel with the wall. I saw a lot of interest a bit like perpendicular. I think it kind of it looked pretty cool and modern, but it just raises the defecates difficulty a little bit because you can see like that nail. That'S how only how much will stick in to the wall right and if you do it this way the nail is gon na get in or like. If, if this was the wall right here, I applied the nail in this way, there's just that much more penetration into the wall, so I went with that route because I also think it's gon na just look a little better. This will be really hard to manage. I think it also is more telling of a not perfectly straight board. You could just kind of see the variance in the board's when they were this way, so I'm gon na go with the flat option, even though it wasn't my. I don't know if it was a plan, I mean it wasn't what I didn't personally plan but, like I think these vertical boards are gon na make the room feel a little taller. Our bed is also shorter, the one that we ordered, and so I hope it just creates kind of like that. Elongated feeling. One thing actually I could talk about too, is that I haven't decided if haven't decided, if I'm gon na paint this window-frame black yet um as soon as I get like the beams over there I'll see how it look like how it looks you know, does it Look like here's a window or you know what I mean, or does it kind of like go with like little Braille window casing? Does it make sense? Because the rest of our house is like that or painted black might just feel like put more focus on the beams and we're focusing like the feature wall, and you don't even kind of realize that there's a window there. So that's up for a debate still, but I think it's gon na look cool so so this fixture hanging fixture curtain thing. We have that here too, and so I'm hoping like that it's gon na bring out like the color in the wood. Does this stay white? I don't know yet, but you're gon na know by the end of this video, so lazy. This is lazy. All right, [, Music, ], [ Applause, ], probably wear the shirt. Last weekend. I was doing this okay [, Music ]. This took me to weekend's about $ 500 that includes, like paint, wood stain lighting, shelving bed frame, mattress new sheets 500 bucks. I like it, I really like it. Should I really like how the black lighting in the shelves kind of blend in with the wall so from far away, it looks like the only thing in here? Is the bed [ Music ]? Did it you
